@ Madhavi: Its a great surprise to note that you hadn't ever crossed 21K mark prior to DR50 Ultra!!!..:) Anyways, Madhavi, there are very few such ultra marathons are organised in India! The ancient most is of course, Bangalore Ultra and then from last year Globe Racers have also started organizing such ultras in NCR region. Nevertheless, I am sure that in coming years few more big Organisers may come to India and organise such Ultras! All the best!

Happy running!

Charge on,

Shail

It was really the great running experience on DR50.As I was going to cross 21 km for the first time , it was a challenging task for me....But I am really very happy not only because I could complete, but also because I enjoyed my first long run.I would like to join such ultra marathons...

Hi, Bravemates!

I am back to wall with a powerful fruit in hand for you!!!...:) The name of this fruit is- 'EXPERIENCE OF FACING AN INJURY'! I had shared with all of you that during my training phase of Bangalore 100K Ultra, I met with an injury in the form of heel pain... Initially, I thought it would be Calcaneal spur or Plantar Fasciitis but I was wrong! It was/is Stress Fracture, which happened due to my insane training of 98K per week!... Anyways, I have learnt a lot from my mistakes and wish that you should never face such a bad phase of life! We must check our passion for running & should give proper rest to body & hear the sound of it! Significance of running track, running shoes, diet, pace variation, proper amount of hydration during long training runs & almighty above, proper training for the event are other important factors which must be taken care of!

Happy running!

Cheers,

Shail

Six months! nearly 700K of training runs that too in the scorching heat of Delhi! Hundreds of hours of investment apart from Thousand and thousands of rupees all gone waste!!!...my dreams of completing ultras are shattered now just because of my over passion for running and hence over training into the too much hot and humid summer of Delhi...:(

Heel pain injury has compelled me to postpone my dreams...really a painful moment for me!...

Friends, let us learn from my gross blunders! Listen the sound of your body! Train your body gradually! Enjoy your run!...

...& here comes injury!!..at times, we become over passionate about running!!..I was doing 60-70K per week very easily but all of a sudden increased it to 98K per week & became a victim of Miss Injury!!!...stupid Shail!!!...Heel pain is trying to challenge my courage & passion for running! Let us see, who wins!!!...take heed, my bravemates! We should run with proper care otherwise we are prone to "Miss Injury" attacks!!!...:))

Happy running!
